Basement Reimagined

PDX, OR 2025

Design Notes: New house, new start. As we all know, any big purchase is super overwhelming especially when it evolves an unfinished basement. For this new home owner, the first tasks was to rip out old wood built in’s that were taking up way too much space. The ultimate purpose was to have a fun relaxing hang out, with a projector and screen, pingpong table and crafting area for his kids. After building a feature wall, painting the walls and floors, the TODS got to work using old and new items the owner had. He had this old school phone that we spray painted turquoise and as a display, we used a cute pair of his kids out grown Adidas shoes. We saved the wood from the built in’s to create a mix-matched wood wall above the craft area, along with trimming out the windows and slats up the stairs. Then added a pop of color with “Hollywood” themed wallpaper! Roughly painted the stairs and added the finishing touches with new and used artwork. It evolved into a space where, chill meets recreation for a reimagined basement that the family can enjoy!
