Intentionally designed spaces can unlock new ways to reach your goals. We are excited to work with you!

Meet & Greet

Getting to Know You: Start by filling out our contact form online to provide a little bit about yourself and your project. Once received, we will email you with dates to schedule a phone conversation. This will be a 15-30 minute chat to hear more of your vision and schedule our first site visit. We are excited to get started!

OnceOver- The Walkthrough: After the initial phone conversation, we schedule an on-site visit. This is the next step in the design process for all services. As you guide us through, we’ll explore your lifestyle, goals, and dreams for your space! Measurements and photographs will be taken, and together with you we’ll assess which of our services best fits your needs. Once you sign with The Overall Design Studio, the walkthrough fee will be applied toward your project. Price to be dependent on hours required for all services.

OUR SERVICES

Since renovating a space can be overwhelming, The Overall Design Studio offers several categories of services, so you can get over the slump and choose what best fits your needs!

The Overall Design

Need a pop of color or some fresh style? One of these options might be all you need!

The DoOver- 1-3hrs Redesign & Reassess: You have great taste! All you need is for us to come in and move it around. Sit back and relax while we do our work! If in the process we agree that new accessories, furnishings, or any of our other services could bring extra pizazz to your world, we will make it happen at a future scheduled date.

Wall Overhaul: Feature walls are our jam! We will propose multiple ways to bring more character to a room by enhancing a single wall or section of walls. Choose your own adventure with a pop of color, dynamic wallpaper or a unique accent feature. This service can be incorporated into any of the other design services, or as a stand-alone project.

Overall Upcycle: Do you have a piece of furniture or a space in your home or office that could be reimagined? Let us dream with you! We are expert creative thinkers & love imagining how to revive a tired piece of furniture or repurposing a nook to meet your needs. A fresh coat of paint or a recovered cushion can work wonders!

The Overall Design +

The Overall Design Plus will fulfill that long dream list of projects that may involve some minor renovations. We’re happy to serve as your project manager and tap into our long list of contracted specialists to ensure every detail is given a personalized touch!

All OverDesign- The Classic Redo: Tired of your stuff? Ready for an updated look? We got you… we will create a design concept to meet your needs and a personalized concept board to ensure that you love every bit of it. This could include design elements such as: furnishings, lighting fixtures, window treatments, art pieces, paint & wallpaper, architectural & surface enhancements, landscape design, as well as accessories & styling. We’ll do what we can and then work with trusted specialists to give you exactly what you’re looking for!

The Traditional Designer

Need a full room remodel? Have your own trusted General Contractor? Great! We’re happy to partner with them to design the space you’re dreaming about!

Over & Out: Once you have your GC hired, we’re happy to provide design schemes including a concept board, floor & elevation plans, and furnishing & accessory selection to you and your GC while they manage the project. Our involvement will be primarily at the beginning of the remodel when we get your approval on all selections, and at the end when we return for the final installation.

Commercial Areas of Focus

  • Strategic planning toward reaching both short and long-term goals is deeply tied to the heartbeat of any human-focused organization, many of whom are stretched too thin to consider the variety of ways their brick-and-mortar environment may be influencing their achievement of those goals. Through a process of learning and listening to the key players within an organization and evaluating the space, we will propose plans for interior designs that more effectively support the organizational mission and the people working so hard to reach it.

  • While educational environments should be places of emotional safety and support to encourage minds to be open to new learning and where educators feel affirmed in their work, we know that campuses have been stretched in deeply challenging ways. With the increase of mental health needs throughout adolescence and early adulthood, feeling a sense of belonging within their school environment is more important for students and educators than ever before. With education and experience in public and private primary and secondary educational contexts in the United States and abroad. By utilizing a person-centered, mission-focused, and creative approach to all spatial design recommendations in educational settings.

  • As an AirBnB owner and manager, Kim has firsthand experience as a small business owner in the hospitality industry. She and her husband renovated their historic home’s original garage into a cozy studio apartment that AirBnB guests from around the world have enjoyed as a short-term rental. Through this experience, Kim developed a strong admiration and respect for the hard-working folks who step out on their own as small business owners. She would be honored to partner with small business owners to re-imagine together how their built environment could help achieve their business dreams!

What Clients Are Saying

  • “We are delighted with the results of your creativity and ardent efforts. The [Center] certainly has more intentional and welcoming spaces because of this project. Your partnership is deeply appreciated and will help cultivate the transformation of many [residents] both now and in the coming years.”

  • "(The space is) laid out so intelligently that everyone has a place to hang out, separately or as a group. Great architecture, engineering, and design. It’s kind of a mix between a woodsy cabin (dark brown tones, high A-frame window, wood textures) and a 1920s Art Deco apartment (striking black and white tile patterns and op-art designs). Unexpected mix that works beautifully.”

  • “The new staff lounge took my breath away today. I was moved to tears. That was a lot of work and I can't believe we have parents that would do something so kind for us. I can't thank you enough!”

  • "Working with Sara is joy. She transformed my unfinished, cold and dusty basement into a comfortable, stylish and multiuse space. From the beginning she was kind and goal oriented without applying any pressure, helping me to see something more than I had imagined while working within my budget. I appreciate her easy style of communication, checking with me throughout the process and prompt in her scheduling. She’s a good listener and skilled in her craft aware of how to come together on ideas and bring them to fruition."

  • "The renewal and re-design of the Wellness Center positively impacts everyone's mental health when they enter into the center. The mood is calm, peaceful, and quiet which helps alleviate stressors one may have. I have worked in public education for almost 16 years. I have never worked in such a calming and beautiful environment such as this one. The re-design took away the institutional feel of the old Wellness Center space, and imbued a humanitarian feel in its place. I am eternally grateful for the thoughtfulness, collaboration, and professionalism of Kim as she helped transform the Wellness Center into a place of calm."
